Countdown to ATP: 12 days

DKT/MC5
Listen to: 'Rocket Reducer No. 62' on Kick Out the Jams
One of the greatest live albums of all time: Kick Out the Jams. I love that album to pieces, from the opening speech by Brother J.C. Crawford of The White Panther movement to the final minute of the cosmic mindfuck that is 'Starship'. You just wish you were there, catching a White Panther button while screaming "Rama Lama Fa Fa Fa" as 'Rocket Reducer No. 62' kicks off. I don't know what to expect without Rob Tyner and with guest vocalists Mark Arm (Mudhoney), Lisa Kekaula (BellRays, Basement Jaxx) and guitarist Adam Pearson (Sisters of Mercy) but let's be positive and hope for a slight retro-revolution for just a few moments.

Dinosaur Jr
As they got lumped in with the Pixies I shied away from Dinosaur Jr but reading something like this on wikipedia: "Their songs, while typically melodic, were performed at extremely high volumes, were saturated with guitar noise and distortion [...]", I might have to reconsider this impulsive rejection. Recommend away please!

Gang Of Four
Listen to: 'Damaged Goods' on Entertainment!
While I wasn't impressed by their comeback they're still one of the most gifted postpunk bands to take a stand. I bet they would cut a split with The Rita if they was still teenagers. Entertainment still gets me going everytime I hear it.

Be Your Own Pet
Should I give their album a listen?
