Countdown to ATP: 13 days

The Dead C
Listen to: 'Sky' on Harsh '70s Reality
All hail the moguls of the Down Under graveyards! The Dead C have inspired a lot of noise infected bands throughout the world. Mainly releasing material on the ever awesome Siltbreeze, with a couple of landmark albums in hand (Harsh '70's Reality and The White House) they've conquered the ugly hearts of tons of underground dwellers, myself included. This year saw the release of their highly anticipated best of, Vain, Erudite and Stupid and it seems they're up for another round of stage bashing.

Monotract
They're an Ecstatic Peace act, that's all I know about Monotract. Recommendations are welcome. Should I?

Prurient
Listen to: 'Bolt' on Troubled Sleep
After Sunn O))) seeing Prurient live is the most intense, physical experience I've ever been a part of. My ears kept ringing for two straight days, but it was worth it. Oh boy was it worth it. Dominick Fernow is fastly becoming noise's most brutal emperor, not counting the many Japanese acts I've still to discover (recommend!). Black Vase is monumental and this year's Pleasure Ground (just released on Load) is it's suicidal cousin. Prurient sets usually don't cross the 30-minute mark but every minute will be engraved in your brain for the rest of your life.

Awesome Color
Listen to: 'Grown' on Awesome Color
Of course they're Thurston's kids and if he curates a festival you can bet on him inviting everyone of his homies, especially when they're signed to Ecstatic Peace. But Awesome Color deserve to be here. With a good debut that's quite similar to Funhouse in it's fucked up gutter blues core, you've done a good job and these kids are hungry, hungry, hungry. Let's just trust Thurston on this one then.
