Hive Mind
Eat noise, sleep noise, walk noise. It's so addictive when it's done right. Fag Tapes boss Greh Holger aka Hive Mind knows it, and shows it. Analogue synth bombs that scrape the flesh off your ears. And it's fun, at that! I haven't heard what he cooked uo this year, if he did something at all (help?). But what I've heard is like a new wave of Düsseldorfer scumbeat, and if you're aware of the first wave, you know what that means.

Leslie Keffer
On one hand it's a shame the programme is packed with only good stuff. You don't want to miss Stooges, Melvins, Wolf Eyes, Magik Markers, Sunburned, Double Leopards, Charalambides, but you're gonna. And still you're running around like an hysterical camel to catch as much as possible. A shame because the boys and girls you never heard of, like Ms. Keffer here, won't get a chance to be heard. Ah well..

Notekillers
Who? Apparently they've been cruising the avantgarde/jazz/scuzzrock waves since the late 70s. Never crossed my path, never heard about. As with Ms. Keffer, no chance of seeing them.

Dead Machines
Listen to: 'Side A' on Dead End at Olson St.
Dead Machines are the Bonnie and Clyde of the electronic slaughterhouse. There's chemistry here, no doubt, there's an awful lot of joy and there's also a lot of fucked up creativity going on inside their systems. I've listened to a lot of their albums released this year. Two stand out, Dead End at Olson Street and the split with John Wiese with Live at Tzompantli as an outstanding runner up. From what I've heard and read their live shows tend to vary in quality quite a lot but I'm hoping on an Olson in top shape, complete with comedy skits and whatnot. Tape the damn thing and release it so I can say I was there. Oh yeah.
